| HAVE YOUR SAY ON ISSUES THAT AFFECT YOU! Up to 6,000 residents in East Lancashire are being sought to join a new 'Citizens' Panel' and give their views on issues that affect them. The panel - called Feedb@ck - will represent the views of the local community. Feedb@ck members will be asked their views via 3 to 5 questionnaire surveys each year on a range of issues including quality of life, their local Council's services and other matters. The surveys will be available on-line as well as in printed format including large print and languages other than English. The surveys will take about 15 minutes to complete. Sometimes, people on the panel will be asked to take part in smaller group discussions about specific issues. Information from the surveys will be used by your local Council to see how it can improve its services. Whilst all responses will be confidential, the results of the surveys may be published in the local media. No names and addresses will be published. The initiative is a joint venture between East Lancashire e-Partnership and the five Boroughs in East Lancashire: Pendle, Rossendale, Hyndburn, Burnley and Ribble Valley. Spokeswoman Christine Collingwood said: "We are looking for around 1,000 people from each Borough to join the panel. Their views will represent their local community and will inform the future of the services which their local council provides." "It will also provide information on the key issues which impact on their daily lives, telling local decision-makers what local people feel is important. This is a great opportunity for local people to have their say about a range of issues that affect them. We urge people to get involved. We promise it won't be onerous as most surveys only take 15 minutes and can be done on-line for extra ease and convenience."
