Police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at an Accrington Restaurant.

The incident took place between 11:00pm on Friday 17th and 11:00am on Saturday 18th February at De Niro's on Haslingden Old Road.

The offenders have gained entry to the premises by smashing the front double door and once inside they have stolen a substantial amount of cash.

PC Paul Wolstenholme from Hyndburn Police said, "I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or remembers seeing anything suspicious to come forward and contact the police.

"The front of the premises is directly next to Haslingden Old Road so it may well be that passing vehicles may have spotted some suspicious activity."

Anyone with information is asked to call Hyndburn police on 101.

People with information can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
